2013 Youth of the Year Recognized

Boys & Girls Club branches of Anne Arundel County recognized six local high school students in the annual award ceremony.

Three Annapolis High School students were among those recognized Thursday in the 2013 Youth of the Year Award ceremony.

Each branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County sent a nominee, and Glen Burnie sophomore Desmond Beggerly was named the winner. Beggerly will go on to the state award ceremony, with a chance to win a scholarship and advance to a regional ceremony, reports The Maryland Gazette.
