Annapolis Crime: Burglar Pulls Gun on Woman

The following information was supplied by the Annapolis Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

The  (APD) provided the following information on recent incidents in the city.

Burglary: unit block of Julianna Circle, 8:05 a.m. May 10. Two burglars kicked open the front door of a residence while a woman was inside. She ran to a bedroom and locked the door but one of the burglars kicked open the door, pointed a handgun at her and took her cell phone. Both burglars then ran out of the house towards the Newtowne Drive area. The burglar with the gun was described as a 5 foot 9 inch man in his late-teens who weighs about 200 pounds.

Robbery: unit block of Lincoln Court, 11 a.m. May 10. A woman walked past a man when he grabbed her and tried to steal her gold necklace. When other people went to help the woman, the man ran toward Louis Drive. Witnesses said the man was in his late-teens or early twenties and about 6 feet tall with a thin build.

Theft from Vehicle: 1800 block of George Avenue, between 7:30 p.m. May 8 and 8 a.m. May 9. A stereo was stolen from a vehicle, which also had damage to the steering column and ignition. Two other vehicles had damage to their doors but nothing was stolen.

Theft from Vehicle: 700 block of Americana Drive, between 7:30 p.m. May 4 and 8 a.m. May 5. A GPS, phone charger and debit card were stolen from a vehicle.

Theft from Vehicle: unit block of College Avenue, 3:30 a.m. May 4. A St. John's College campus police officer saw a man standing near vehicles in a parking lot. When the officer approached, the man ran off. The contents of three unlocked vehicles were rummaged through but it's unknown if anything was stolen.

Burglary: unit block of Southgate Avenue, 12:50 a.m. May 6. A burglar tried to break glass in the front door of a residence with a brick. The attempt was unsuccessful.
