Annapolis Greek Orthodox Church Starts Holy Week Services
This year, the Greek Orthodox faith observed the start of Holy Week a week after many other Christian faiths.

While many Christians worldwide are wrapping up Holy Week, the Greek Orthodox Church is just starting its observance.
"Many people don't know that the Orthodox calendar follows the ancient method of telling time, which is through the stars, planets as do the Jews," said Marcus Chacona, a parishoner at in Annapolis. "Our Palm Sunday always falls on the Sunday after the spring equinox and Easter is after Passover, as it was told in the Bible."
So, when many Christian faiths celebrated Easter on Sunday, those of the Greek Orthodox faith commemorated Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week.
