Annapolis Police: Armed Robber Took Money, Cigarettes from Gas Station

Other incidents reported in the department's daily briefing include an auto theft and a stolen bicycle.

Annapolis police say a man stole 53 packs of cigarettes in a gas station armed robbery on Friday.

The robbery happened in the 1200 block of West Street at 7:40 a.m. A man armed with a handgun demanded money and cigarettes from a clerk. He left with an undisclosed amount of money, the packs of Newport cigarettes and the clerk's purse, according to police.

In a separate incident, someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Granville Avenue between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8:50 a.m. Friday. The intruder took money, the vehicle's spare key and its registration card, according to police.

In the 400 block of Oaklawn Avenue, a brown 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe with Maryland tag No. 653489M was taken from the street between 3:30 and 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Tahoe had been left unlocked, with a key under the driver's side floor mat, according to police.

Between 1:30 and 1:35 p.m. Sunday, a silver men's mountain bicycle was taken from behind a business in the 300 block of Severn Avenue. The bike was left unsecured, according to police.
