Annapolis Police Investigate Auto Theft, Burglary

Three crimes were reported in the department's daily briefing.

Annapolis police are investigating an auto theft.

Between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. Thursday, a white 2006 Jeep Commander was taken from the unit block of Spa Road. The vehicle has Maryland tag No. 755M122 and has a sticker on the front windshield that reads "Aloha," according to police.

In the unit block of Old Solomons Island Road, someone pried open the door to a business sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. A safe inside was damaged, but not opened, and nothing was reported missing from the business. A nearby establishment reported damage to an office door, but the burglar did not make entry, according to police.

In the 700 block of Rosedale Street, an officer patrolling nearby at 1:40 a.m. Thursday noticed a scooter on the sidewalk with its engine running. The officer took the scooter to the police station. Later that morning, the owner called police to report it had been stolen before the officer found it, according to police.
