Annapolis Teacher To Participate in Prestigious STARs Program

An science teacher is preparing to make her mark in STEM education.
Beth Foster was among only 40 middle and high school teachers nationwide chosed to participate in the Siemens Teachers As Researchers (STARs) fellowship program, according to a news release from the Siemens Foundation. The program, which runs from July 8 to July 20, trains educators to bring research into the classrooms and inspire students to pursue science, technology, engineering and math education (STEM).
The Siemens Foundation, a division of the Siemens Corporation, supports STEM educational initiatives.

During the program, Foster and other Stars participants will conduct research alongside leading scientists, the release states. The teachers will also receive a grant to purchase supplies for their classrooms.
