Annapolis Woman To Hold Lupus Fundraiser in Memory of Friend
Participate in the fundraiser Monday night at Cold Stone Creamery in Edgewater and a portion of the proceeds will go to "Team Bridget" and the Lupus Foundation of America.
In February, Kristin Watson of Annapolis and Katie Gateau of Edgewater lost their dear friend Bridget Beth Melvin when she passed away from lupus complications.
Since Melvin’s passing, the two friends began working with the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) to help the 1.5 million people nationwide diagnosed with lupus.
Local residents can join their fight by going to the at 15 Lee Air Park Dr. in Edgewater from 6-9 p.m. Monday. Part of the proceeds from Monday's fundraiser will go to Watson and Gateau’s support effort, “Team Bridget,” as they hope to raise $10,000 for the LFA.
