Black Friday Fight Causes Unfounded Rumors Of Annapolis Mall Gunfire: Police

Police said a fight at the Annapolis Mall sparked rumors of gunfire, causing a stir on Black Friday.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An unfounded report of possible gunfire at the Annapolis Mall sent shoppers into a frenzy on Black Friday, police said.

Officers, however, said they determined that there was no gunshot that afternoon.

"Credible information, along with witness accounts[,] suggests there was an altercation between two known parties who left the mall when officers arrived," the Anne Arundel County Police Department wrote on Facebook.

Officers had an increased presence at the mall until the investigation concluded.
