Chesapeake Bay Trust, Groupon Announce Watershed Clean-up

The Restore Our Waters campaign would work towards removing more than 2,000 pounds of trash from the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust and Groupon Grassroots—a philanthrophic branch of the company—are partnering to clean up area waterways.

In a news release, the two organizations announced the Restore Our Waters campaign, an initiative to remove more than 2,000 pounds of trash from streams and waterways in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, today.

From Monday to April 22, Groupon subscribers can pledge support—in $10 increments—that would go towards community clean-up projects that would engage thousands of locals, remove trash and other restoration efforts, the release states. The deal can be found on the Washington, D.C. Groupon Grassroots website.
