City Budget Adopted with Slight Tax Hike
The $95 million budget was approved Monday night.

The Annapolis City Council adopted the coming fiscal year’s budget Monday, a spending plan that weighs in at $95.6 million, calling for a an increase to the property tax rate by 1.04 cents per $100 of assessed value.
“The theme of this budget is responsible restraint,” Mayor Josh Cohen said in a release following the budget’s adoption.
Cohen explained that the budget maintains the city’s assets and strengthens the city’s financial position by building a fund balance, and does not raise water and sewer rates, or solid waste fees.
