Decision on Naval Academy Sexual Assault Charges Postponed
The decision has been delayed by a federal lawsuit by the victim in the case.
A decision on whether to charge three Naval Academy midshipmen in a sexual assault is on hold pending the outcome of a lawsuit.
The Baltimore Sun reports superintendent Vice Adm. Michael H. Miller will review the findings in a report by investigating officer Navy Cmdr. Robert P. Monahan and issue his decision after the related suit is resolved.
The alleged victim, also a Naval Academy midshipman, claims Miller is biased in favor of the accused midshipmen, all Naval Academy football players.
Tra'ves Bush, Joshua Tate and Eric Graham all could be charged with the assault and making false statements. The three are accused of assaulting the female midshipman at an off-campus party last year. Arguments in their Article 32 hearing wrapped up early last month.
