Fatal Shooting At Annapolis Bus Stop Stemmed From Bullying Dispute: Report

The wife of John Simms Jr. said he was fatally shot last week after the couple confronted the accused shooter about a bullying incident.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A father who was fatally shot at an Annapolis bus stop last week had argued with the suspect the day before over a possible bullying incident between their children, according to a report.

In an interview with FOX 45, the wife of 36-year-old John Simms Jr. said they confronted Roscoe Jerome Jones, 31, and his girlfriend on March 18 — a day before Jones is accused of shooting Simms multiple times at an Annapolis school bus stop — because their child was reportedly bullying the Simms' child.

The following day, police said Jones shot Simms around 7:30 a.m. at a bus stop in the 100 block of Clay Street. A dozen students were waiting for the bus when the shooting occurred, police said.
