Federal Investigators Look Into Chesapeake Bay Bridge Crash
AAA Mid-Atlantic officials have called for a review of safety measures as federal investigators examine the vehicles involved and site where a car went over the eastbound span last week.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators on Thursday met with Maryland officials to discuss the accident last week that sent a car over the eastbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
WTOP reports investigators spent 2 1/2 hours with state officials and drove over the bridge to see the site of the crash. The Baltimore Sun reports the investigators also examined the three vehicles involved.
Morgan Jade Lake, 22, of Sunderland was injured when her car collided with a tractor-trailer and went into the water 40 feet below. Lake was released Sunday from Shock Trauma.
Leif Dormsjo, the state's deputy transportation secretary, told the Sun the state may "pursue charges at some point" against Gabor Lavasz of Prince Edward Island, Canada, the truck driver. Lavasz was not injured.
AAA Mid-Atlantic officials this week called for the NTSB to review safety measures on the bridge's barriers. Maryland Transportation Authority engineers found no structural issues on the bridge following the crash.
