Flash Flood Warning Issued For Parts Of MD Amid Ongoing Rainfall
Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen Thursday. Here's how much more the Baltimore region could get.
The National Weather Service on Thursday issued a flash flood warning for parts of Maryland as storms and heavy rains moved across the Baltimore region.
The warning is in effect until 7:15 p.m. for Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, as well as Baltimore City.
Around 4:10 p.m., radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen, and additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected, according to the NWS.

"Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," the NWS said.
While isolated showers and thunderstorms remain possible Thursday afternoon, the chance for severe weather will dissipate into the evening hours, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang.

Due to gusty winds, a special marine warning was also in effect Thursday afternoon for the Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point, and the Patapsco River, including Baltimore Harbor.
"Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel," the NWS said.
On Friday, residents of the Baltimore region should expect sunny skies and some afternoon clouds. Humidity will be moderately high and could spawn additional afternoon showers or thunderstorms.
As for the weekend, the Capital Weather Gang said, "Sunshine will be abundant Saturday through Monday with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s (mid-90s possible Sunday) and lows in the upper 60s and low 70s. The good news is the humidity should have moderated slightly with dew points in the mid- to upper 60s. Isolated late-day showers or storms cannot be ruled out but shouldn’t threaten most outdoor activities."
