Fundraiser For Workers 'Blindsided’ By Eatery’s ‘Sudden Closure' In Anne Arundel

EDGEWATER, MD — A fundraiser was planned for employees of an Edgewater crab house that seemed to close suddenly Tuesday.

Community members scheduled a fundraiser at the Edgewater Greene Turtle to support the workers of Bayside Inn. The organizers also set up accounts to collect donations for the restaurant's staff.

The fundraiser is scheduled for April 11 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Anita Ford, Tammy Weitzel-Carey and Lisa Curry Sullivan planned the event.

"We're coming together to support the incredible employees of Bayside who were blindsided by the sudden closure — leaving them without jobs or income. Let's rally as a community to raise funds and show them they're not alone," the fundraiser page said.

Ford is accepting donations via Venmo at @anita-ford-7 and Cash App at $FordAM71. Donations will be split between the Bayside employees.
