Group Seeks Volunteers to Mark Sept. 11 Anniversary with Service
The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County will mark the day first with a brief ceremony at the Maryland World War II Memorial.

The Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County and other agencies and environmental groups will spend a day in September on environmental projects in memory of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The Saturday, Sept. 7 commemoration begins with a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at the Maryland World War II Memorial in the median at 1920 Ritchie Highway in Annapolis. The US Naval Academy band ceremonial unit will provide music for the ceremony recognizing those who have lost their lives in service to the country, according to a release.
Volunteers will then work on projects from the memorial down to Jonas Green Park. Volunteers will weed, mulch and pick up debris along Ritchie Highway.
