Inmate Found On Eastern Shore After Anne Arundel County Escape: Police

The inmate who escaped in Anne Arundel County was found on the Eastern Shore, police said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The inmate who escaped Thursday morning in Anne Arundel County was taken into custody on the Eastern Shore, police announced Friday morning.

Officers said the inmate from the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis escaped from the nearby Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center around 11 a.m. Thursday. The inmate had been taken to the hospital for treatment, The Capital reported.

Authorities started searching for 35-year-old James Cash Gregory of Washington, D.C.

Police reported Thursday sightings of Gregory in Annapolis near Truxtun Park and the intersection of Monroe Street and Bay Ridge Avenue.

The Annapolis Police Department announced Friday at 9:37 a.m. that Gregory was found.

The Maryland State Police captured Gregory in Queen Anne's County, authorities said.

WUSA9 reported that a judge on Wednesday ordered Gregory to be held without bond. He escaped the next day.

There is no longer a threat to the public.
