ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis police are dealing this week with a rash of vehicle thefts, with four reported stolen off city streets since Monday, April 29. All four vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside, the police said.

Officers recovered two vehicles on the same days they were reported stolen, the police said in a statement, and arrests were made in both cases.

But on Wednesday, they said that a grey Jeep Wrangler, with Maryland license plate No. 21235CG, was reported stolen from the unit block of Amos Garrett Boulevard.

The police also are searching for a white Ford F-250 pickup truck with a trailer, which was stolen on Wednesday. The pickup, with Maryland license plate No. 7BW4228, has the word "Honeysuckle" written in green on the door.

It was pulling a trailer that carried a tractor and a walk-behind lawn mower, the police said.

To prevent thefts, the police are urging residents to lock their vehicle doors and remove any spare keys from inside their vehicle.

They also urge residents to stow their electronics and accessories well out of sight, "or better yet, bring it with you," they said in the statement. "Even sunglasses and coins can attract thieves."
