Man Fatally Shot, Suspect Identified In Annapolis
A man was fatally shot in an Annapolis neighborhood. Police named the suspect, who is still on the run.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man was fatally shot in an Annapolis neighborhood Wednesday night, police said.
Officers identified the victim as 37-year-old Gregory Antonio Wells.
Authorities said they obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, William Delonte Hairston.

Police said stationary units in the area heard gunshots around 11:09 p.m.
Officers said they were guided to the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue, located in the Robinwood community, and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police and medics from the Annapolis Fire Department attempted life-saving measures.
The victim was later pronounced dead at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, authorities said.
"Our hearts are heavy with the loss of life in our community today, and we must address the root causes of violence in our city. That is to stop the easy access to firearms, so that we can prevent future tragedies," said Chief of Police Ed Jackson in a statement. "We stand with the victim's family, and I assure them that we will dedicate every resource to ensuring justice is served. This loss affects us all, and we are committed to providing support and answers as we move forward."
