Man Shot While Riding Bike In Annapolis: Police

A man was shot while riding a bike in Annapolis, police said. Medics took him to a hospital, and detectives are investigating.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man was shot while riding a bicycle this weekend in Annapolis, city police said.

A press release said medics took the victim to a hospital. Officers expect him to survive.

Authorities said they responded to the report of shots fired in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive around 8:50 p.m. Friday.

Police said they found the victim, who reported that he heard gunshots and then was grazed by a bullet.

Officers did not find any suspects or mention any leads. Authorities are still investigating.

The Annapolis Police Department asked anybody with information to call 410-260-3439. Tipsters can also anonymously contact officers at 410-280-CLUE (410-280-2583).

The Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland offered a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest or an indictment on felony charges. The Metro Crime Stoppers is a non-police organization that collects tips and shares them with detectives.
