Man Shot While Walking In Annapolis, Treated At Hospital: Police

A man was shot while walking in Annapolis, police said. The victim doesn't know who shot him.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man was shot and hospitalized Thursday in Annapolis, city police said. Officers announced the news Friday afternoon.

Authorities said they got a call around 4:25 p.m. Thursday from an undisclosed hospital nearby reporting that a man came in with a gunshot wound.

The victim told police that he was walking in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive when he heard a gunshot from an unknown direction and ran away, a press release said.

Officers said the man was shot in the lower left leg and a friend drove him to the hospital.

The Annapolis Police Department said the injured man was in stable condition and has since been treated and released from the hospital.
