New Annapolis Crime Map Launched

Regional Analysis and Information Data Sharing launches today, July 1.

Annapolis officials announced the July 1 launch of a new online crime map for the city. The new map is called RAIDS (Regional Analysis and Information Data Sharing) Online and replaces an existing map created by the City of Annapolis.

The new RAIDS Online product is offered for free from LexisNexis ® Risk Solutions and offers 27 different categories of crime events. It can be searched based on location of crime, type of crime, and date parameters. The crime map contains information going back a year. Users can sign up for crime alerts that automatically email a Neighborhood Watch Report on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.

“This is part of our ongoing commitment to keep our residents informed and offer them real time information that impacts them on a daily basis,” Mayor Michael Pantelides said.

RAIDS Online automatically syncs with the Annapolis Police Department’s records system to keep information updated. RAIDS Online geocodes the crime data to show the approximate location, then displays the incidents on a map, grid, and analytics dashboard along with some basic information about the incidents, including the type of crime, location type, date, and time.
