A new list compiled by Travel + Leisure highlights the most romantic spot in every state. This is where Marylanders feel the most love.
MARYLAND — Assateague Island National Seashore is the most romantic place in Maryland, according to a recently released list.
Located on one of the largest mid-Atlantic barrier islands, Assateague Island National Seashore is a 48,000-acre preserved stretch of coastal wilderness along the ocean. The park is located about 140 miles southeast of Baltimore.
A recent list by Travel + Leisure compiled the most romantic places in every state. Writers agreed Assateague is worth a visit.

"If you’re looking for a little peace and privacy in a beautiful oceanfront setting, head to Assateague Island National Seashore, an NPS-managed barrier island park," according to Travel + Leisure writers. "The seashore, split between Maryland and Virginia, is home to wild horses that you can spot from a safe distance."
