Police Charge Teen in Assault with a Gun

The suspect punched a 19-year-old in the face, then struck him in the face with a handgun, police said.

Police have charged a 19-year-old in the assault of another teen with a handgun.

On Nov. 13, the Annapolis Police Department reported that a 19-year-old male was in front of Newtowne Drive when he was punched in the face by an acquaintance. The man then drew a handgun and struck the teen in the face with the weapon, according to a police report.

On Tuesday, police charged Brandon Johnson, 19, of Annapolis, with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a violent crime, and having a handgun.

He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $225,000.
