Police: Taxi Driver Robbed at Gunpoint, Suspicious Activity Near School
Police responded to an armed robbery on President Street where a taxi driver was assaulted at gunpoint.

Annapolis police released the following reports regarding crime in the area as of Friday. There have been 19 reported crimes this month:
November 6
Suspicious Activity – Unit block of Spa Rd. at 7:30am: A 13 year old girl was walking to school when a man in a white mid-sized SUV pulled up and spoke to her. The man said he was to give the girl a ride to school. The girl ran back home where the incident was reported. The school sent home a letter to parents about this incident on 11/06 (Editor's note: See Patch's article on the incident here).Burglary – Unit block of East St. at 4:35 p.m.: After entering through an unlocked basement door an unknown suspect stole a brown purse from just inside the residence.
Burglary – 1000 block of Madison St. at 6 p.m.: After entering through an unlocked rear window an unknown suspect stole jewelry from an apartment. The jewelry taken was worth approximately $3,500 and all yellow gold.
November 7
Police Activity - 900 block of Breakwater Dr. at 9 a.m.: Annapolis Police Dispatchers received a phone call expressing concern for a subject inside a home with access to firearms. Officers responded to the home to make contact with the occupant. Officers opened a dialogue with the occupant and at 11:45 a.m. officers met with the subject and the incident concluded. (Editor's note: This incident resulted in a red alert being issued in the nearby area on Thursday morning).

Armed Robbery - 900 block of President St. at 2:20 a.m.: A cab driver picked up a fare in the 400 block of Harwood Pl. and drove him to the 900 block of President St. When they arrived the fare struck the driver in the head with a handgun and demanded money and the driver’s cell phone. The driver complied and the suspect fled the cab. The driver left the area and called police to report the robbery. The driver was treated on scene for an injury above his eye.
