Pre-Memorial Day Traffic Snarls Annapolis

Traffic was backed up from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge all the way to Interstate 97 on U.S. Route 50 Friday afternoon.

Unless you have somewhere to be this afternoon, it might be best to stay inside.

As a result of the Memorial Day holiday weekend and a visit by President Barack Obama to Annapolis this morning, traffic was clogging most of Annapolis' main roads as of 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, showing no sign of letting up.

According to traffic cameras hosted by the Maryland Department of Transportation, a column of cars was backed up on U.S. Route 50 from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge all the way to the Interstate 97 intersection.
