ANNAPOLIS, MD — The City of Annapolis warned of a second protest to reopen Maryland on Monday, but it failed to take place. The city tweeted Sunday afternoon that the protest would start at 9 a.m. When WJZ camera crews arrived they saw no signs of a protest, just a pickup truck that circled city streets with American and “Don’t Tread On Me” flags displayed, and one person on foot with a “Don’t Tread On Me” flag.

Dozens rallied in downtown Annapolis Saturday as they demanded Gov. Larry Hogan to remove some restrictions the state has put in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Protesters drove through the city’s downtown with signs and flags calling for Maryland to be “re-opened” and for restrictions on everything from boating to attending church services to be lifted or modified.
