Shooting Victim Seriously Hurt, Suspect Arrested In Annapolis: Police

A shooting victim is in critical condition and a suspect was arrested after a gunfire exchange in Annapolis, police said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A man is in critical condition after he was shot Thursday evening in Annapolis, city police said. Officers announced the news Friday afternoon.

Authorities said they arrested the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Dimitria Weston of Annapolis.

The Annapolis Police Department said Weston is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and related offenses.

Officers said they got a call Thursday around 10:55 p.m. reporting the shots fired.

Authorities said "there was an exchange of gunfire" that hospitalized the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said they secured a search warrant for a home on Tyler Avenue and arrested the suspect.
