Annapolis Mall shoppers can find portable pizza served in a cone-shaped crust starting Feb. 8 at Kono To-Go; Arundel Mills site pending.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis Mall shoppers can find portable pizza served in a freshly baked cone-shaped crust starting Feb. 8 at Kono To-Go. Retired Air Force veteran Tony Murphy has opened several locations of the franchise in Maryland.
For Murphy, becoming a multi-unit franchisee for Kono To-Go is definitely a new direction after spending 27 years in the military. He has already opened up his Baltimore location and his Annapolis is opening this Wednesday, February 8 at Annapolis Mall, Annapolis Mall Road. Kono To-Go Annapolis will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. To learn more, visit www.konousa.com.

The new Kono To-Go is owned and operated by Murphy, who opened his first kiosk in the White Marsh Mall in Baltimore. He has expansion plans for a third location in the Arundel Mills Mall for mid-2017, according to a news release.
Kono To-Go has taken the traditional pizza slice and made it 3D, in a cone. The new snacking experience features customizable and portable pizza and dessert options, all served in freshly-baked dough cones. Filled with fresh, high quality ingredients, with its dough sauce imported straight from Italy, the cones are then baked in the brand’s proprietary oven in just three minutes. The menu features eight pizza cone options, as well as breakfast and dessert cones.

“We’re offering our on-the-go shoppers a portable, quick and convenient snack that is customizable to their taste buds,” Murphy, owner of the Kono To-Go in Annapolis, said in the press release. “They can be eaten the same way as an ice cream cone, except with biting instead of licking. The soft, hot, baked crust wraps perfectly around the fillings to form just the right size treat to tide you over to your next meal.”
Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the wide variety of dessert kones, including the Ghiradelli® kones stuffed with the premium chocolate and an assortment of other sweet fillings. A variation of the classic Italian dessert tiramisu – filled with savoiardo biscuit, coffee syrup and tiramisu cream – and a variety of cannoli kones are also available for easy to eat between meal snacking.
