Sailboat Show Coming Late-April

The show will feature an instructional course that teaches students to live aboard a cruise boat.

United States Yacht Shows, which hosts in-water boat shows such as the Bay Bridge Boat Show, is putting on its first Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show. 

A highlight of the event, running from April 27 to April 29 at the city dock and surronding areas, is Cruiser's University, an educational program for people hoping to try out long-range cruising.

"It's good for people who hope to spend six months or a year cruising the world," said Kelly Jackson, a sales coordinator for United States Yacht Shows. "It teaches diesel maintenance and modern navigation techniques."

The show will also feature more than 60 new and brokerage sail boats and equipment and accessories vendors.

In addition, the Annapolis Nautical Flea Market, held on Saturday and Sunday, will be another highlight of the show. The market will offer art, jewelry, equipment and more sold by individuals, not businesses.

The show's hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. 

"This is a great event for anybody interested in any kind of sailboat," Jackson said. "People looking to but their first boat, people who have three."
