Students Help Create Oyster Reef in Education Partnership
A group of students from Anne Arundel County help the Annapolis Maritime museum in a local environmental project for the Severn River.
The Annapolis Maritime Museum was shown helping guide students to create a reef out of oyster shells in the Severn River in a recent YouTube video.
The video, uploaded by AnnapMaritimeMuseum shows the students at work, learning about the importance of the reef, oysters and environmental stewardship.
According to the museum's website, the program runs all year with students helping with the reef in a variety of ways, including setting out oyster cages, cleaning the oysters, collecting water quality data and ultimately planting the oysters in the river.
