TriRock Sells Out, Closes Annapolis Roads
The triathlon has returned to the city after a controversial first year.

Despite from some Annapolis residents, the is back for another year.
The race, which is scheduled for Saturday, has sold out with more than 1,300 participants, organizers said. Area roads will be closed to accomodate the athletes.
Starting around 6:45 a.m., only two lanes on Route 450 northbound will be open from Route 648 to Route 50, according to Anne Arundel County police. The southbound lanes will be completely closed to motorists.

Roads are expected to reopen by 10 a.m., police said.
Participants will start the race with a 500-meter swim in the Chesapeake Bay beginning at the city docks, followed by a 12-mile bike ride past the and then finish off with a 3.1-mile run through downtown, organizers said.

The event will include live music throughout the race as well as a post-race concert and festival. Steuart Martens, who was featured on the seventh season of NBC's The Apprentice, is also competing in the triathlon.
At an April city council meeting, that TriRock disrupted the community by causing too much noise and blocking access to local businesses.
But other Annapolitans are excited to see the triathlon return.
"I did this event last year, and I'm doing it again this year," wrote Heather Nanni DeBuse on the Annapolis Patch Facebook page. "It's a great event."
