ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Beginning next week, parents can once again get their children vaccinated at Anne Arundel County schools.

Four schools will host COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination clinics for children ages 5-11 over the next two weeks, and each runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The clinics will offer kids the first dose, as families of children who have received their first dose were given information on second-dose clinics.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Anne Arundel Department of Health are teaming up to offer the clinics. Officials said they are similar to ones previously held at 24 elementary schools countywide, where more than 1,700 children have received shots.

Officials are planning to host similar clinics in January as well.

Children ages 5 to 11 are fully vaccinated once they've received two shots three weeks apart. Second doses will be given at the same schools as the first doses, officials said, and families of children who receive first doses will be given reminders from the Department of Health to schedule their second shots.
