UPDATE: Suspicious Package on West Street Cleared
A portion of West Street was closed while authorities investigated a report of a suspicious package.
Updated (3:54 p.m.)—The suspicious package was deemed to be non hazardous by fire officials at 3:30 p.m.
Authorities closed traffic on West Street between Calvert Street and Colonial Avenue at about 2 p..m. after a suspicious package was reported in the area near Loews Hotel.
The Annapolis Bomb Squad was deployed and a remote controlled robot was used to investigate the package, a backpack left near Loews Hotel.
