The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is on Monday, Jan. 19. In observance of the holiday, Annapolis City government offices will be closed, and the Annapolis Transit will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
Anne Arundel County public schools, government offices and libraries will also be closed. But trash and recycling collection will still take place on a regular schedule.
To celebrate the holiday, Annapolis will host the first Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade. Beginning at noon, the parade will travel from Amos Garrett Boulevard down West Street to Church Circle, down Main Street and end at City Dock.
