Winning Scratch-Off Ticket Worth $1M Sold In Annapolis

A winning $2 million ticket was also sold at a Baltimore County grocery store, Maryland Lottery officials said.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A winning Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket worth $1 million was sold recently at an Annapolis liquor store, according to officials.

The lucky winner purchased the $1 Million Royale ticket at Annapolis Wine & Spirits, located at 1307 Forest Dr., the Maryland Lottery said in a news release. They have since claimed their prize.

To play $1 Million Royale, players must match any of their numbers to one or more of the five winning numbers to win the prize shown for that number. Reveal a diamond symbol and players will automatically win the prize shown for that amount. Reveal a crown symbol to win double the prize shown.

Five players have won the $1 million jackpot to date, according to lottery officials. Two top prizes remain. The odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.04.

The ticket sold in Annapolis was one of two sold last week that turned a Marylander into a millionaire. A Monopoly X200 scratch-off ticket worth $2 million was sold at Giant Food, 10210 Mill Run Circle in Owings Mills.

In all games, players won more than $30.1 million across Maryland in the week of Oct. 13-19, including 28 tickets worth $10,000 or more.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. Fast Play tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets worth up to and including $600.
