EDGEWATER, MD — A woman won a $100,000 jackpot on a scratch-off bought recently in Edgewater.

The victor's daughter bought her the ticket at 7-Eleven #41610, located at 3226 Solomons Island Road.

The daughter often purchases pairs of scratch-offs for her mother. On March 1, she bought a soda for herself and two $100,000 Ca$h instant tickets for her mom.

“I saw more and more zeros, which appeared to be $100,000,” the Calvert County mom said in a March 7 press release. “I showed my daughter so she could check for me.”

The daughter who bought the ticket “had to look to see what the ‘win’ symbol meant. Then, we stopped at another store to scan the ticket.”

The mom kept her calm after learning about her big win. She only told a few family members, who she plans to share the prize with. She will put the rest in the bank.

“She’s very low key,” stated another daughter, who joined the winner and her sibling to collect the prize. “That’s just how she is, she doesn’t get overly excited about things.”

The 7-Eleven will get a $1,000 bonus for selling the jackpot winner.

The $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off costs $30. It debuted in September 2023 with 65 $100,000 top prizes. There are still 55 jackpots left. The game also has 31 $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $30 to $500.
