AACPS Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know
Here's when classes start for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Plus, mark your calendars for fall, winter and spring breaks.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Summer is almost over for Anne Arundel County students. The first day of school in Anne Arundel County Public Schools is Monday, Aug. 26 for grades 1 to 5 and grades 6 and 9 only.
School is open for grades 1 to 12 on Tuesday, Aug. 27. ECI, Pre-K and Kindergarten have staggered openings between Monday, Aug. 26 and Friday, Aug. 30.

Labor Day: Closed Monday, Sept. 2.
Rosh Hashanah: Closed Thursday, Oct. 3.

Professional Development: Two-hour early dismissal Tuesday, Oct. 15. No afternoon ECI.
End Of First Marking Period: Two-hour early dismissal Monday, Oct. 28 and Tuesday, Oct. 29. No afternoon ECI.
Professional Development: Elementary and middle schools closed Friday, Nov. 1. High schools open.
Election Day: Closed Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Closed Monday, Nov. 25 and Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Thanksgiving Break: Closed Wednesday, Nov. 27 through Friday, Nov. 29.
Professional Development: Two-hour early dismissal Tuesday, Dec. 10. No afternoon ECI.
Christmas/New Year's/Winter Break: Closed Monday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 1.
End Of Second Marking Period: Two-hour early dismissal Thursday, Jan. 16 and Friday, Jan. 17. No afternoon ECI. Teacher workdays.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Closed Monday, Jan. 20.
Semester Break: Closed for all students Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Professional Development: Two-hour early dismissal Tuesday, Feb. 4. No afternoon ECI.
President's Day: Closed Monday, Feb. 17.
Professional Development: Two-hour early dismissal Tuesday, March 18. No afternoon ECI.
End Of Third Marking Period: Two-hour early dismissal Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28. No afternoon ECI.
Easter/Spring Break: Closed Monday, April 14 through Monday, April 21.
Last Day For Graduating Seniors: Friday, May 23.
Memorial Day: Closed Monday, May 26.
End Of Fourth Marking Period: Two-hour early dismissal Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13. No half-day ECI.
