Arnold Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Rape

The man was convicted of forcing sex on a woman and threatening her life, according to prosecutors.

An Arnold man received a 25-year sentence after he was convicted of raping a woman in her Old Mill Bottom home in 2012.

The judge sentenced George Christopher Kinzer III, 23, of Arnold to a life sentence for the crime, with all but 25 years suspended, according to online court records.

The Capital reported that the judge called the sentence "a substantial punishment."

Anne Arundel County prosecutors sought a 30-year sentence in their case, after Kinzer entered an Alford plea to first-degree rape charges, admitting that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him of a crime.

Kinzer was accused of raping a woman in her Arnold home on July 22, 2012, according to court documents.

State prosecutors said Kinzer often fished on the woman's property, and he reportedly forced himself on her while her husband was away. He threatened her life when she refused to have sex with him, prosecutors said.
