Fatal Crash In Anne Arundel Claims Prince George's Driver: Police

A fatal crash claimed a 25-year-old driver and hospitalized a passenger, Anne Arundel police said. The victims are from Prince George's.

FRIENDSHIP, MD — A driver died and a passenger was hospitalized in a recent crash in southern Anne Arundel County, police said. Both victims are from District Heights in Prince George's County.

Officers identified the deceased as Ramiah Carleen-Teresa Peoples, 25.

Authorities said her front-seat passenger suffered serious injuries.

The single-vehicle crash happened in Friendship around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Friendship Road near Fairhaven Road, police said.

Officers said a 2020 Nissan Versa sedan was heading west on Friendship Road at a high rate of speed.

The driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and left the roadway, authorities said.

Police said the car then traveled up an embankment, hit several trees and overturned in a ditch.

Officers said medics took both occupants to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo.

Authorities said the driver went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
