Flight Delayed? Go for a Quick Walk

BWI Marshall Airport introduces two "cardio loops" allowing travelers to get some exercise while waiting for their flights.

Travelers at BWI Marshall Airport will have a chance to burn a few calories while waiting for flights, after the introduction of two new walking paths.

The BWI Cardio Trail includes two kilometer-long loops, including one inside the secure area of the airport. It takes about 20 minutes to complete a loop, officials said.

The paths were introduced Wednesday at the airport as part of the American Heart Association's National Walking Day.

“The BWI Cardio Trail offers a new option for our travelers to exercise while waiting for their flights,” said Paul J. Wiedefeld, Executive Director of BWI Marshall, in a press release.  “The marked trail provides passengers with directions and motivation to use their travel time for physical activity.”

To follow the trails, travelers can just follow the logos positioned on walls. Maps are also available at the airport's information desk.
