Man Hospitalized After Fire on Mansion House Crossing

Fire officials said there were no working smoke detectors in the Pasadena house when the fire started Thursday night.

One man was taken to a local hospital Thursday night after a fire started in the basement of his Pasadena home, an Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman said.

Capt. Mike Pfaltzgraff said units responded at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday to the 8000 block of Mansion House Crossing and found a home with fire and smoke coming from the basement.

It took about 20 firefighters roughly 10 minutes to get the fire under control. One man who was in the house escaped, but was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie with minor injuries.
