"I don't know if he was an actual employee [or] subcontractor," Gardiner said, according to WBAL-TV. "This is someone who is known to the family."

The Baltimore Banner said authorities found Reyes in Hanover, and an officer tried to initiate a traffic stop around 6:27 p.m.

That led to a pursuit that ended on Interstate 97 at Quarterfield Road, The Banner said.

Authorities said Reyes resisted arrest, the Capital Gazette reported. The Banner said he was taken into custody at 6:34 p.m.

Reyes and an officer were both injured in the struggle and taken to a hospital, the Capital Gazette said.

Toni Arnold told WJZ her daughter lived with the victims, but she was not home at the time of the shooting. "I just can't believe somebody viciously murdered them in broad daylight," Arnold told WJZ. "He didn't deserve that. He took care of his wife; he took care of my daughter. It just breaks my heart."
