High School Closed After Water Main Break, State Track Championships Postponed
An Anne Arundel County high school is closed Thursday because of a water main break. The state track championships were postponed.
HARWOOD, MD — Southern High School will be closed Thursday for students and staff because of a water main break at the building.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools announced the news at 7 a.m.
The schedule for the indoor track and field state championships, originally slated for off-site Thursday, was also shaken up. Several student-athletes from Southern High School are competing.

The Class 2A and 3A state meets were postponed until Friday. The Class 1A state meet was pushed to next Wednesday.
The start time is still 1 p.m. at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.
