Three Killed in One-Car Crash in Odenton

Police said a fourth victim is in critical condition after a Subaru left the roadway and struck a tree early Sunday morning.

Three people died early Sunday morning and another is in critical condition after a car struck a tree in near Piney Orchard Parkway and Riverscape Road in Odenton.

Paramedics responded to the scene at about 12:40 a.m. and found a 2005 Subaru WDX passenger car had struck a tree. They found three people, including the driver, dead at the scene. A fourth person was extricated from the car and transported by helicopter to the Shock Trauma center in Baltimore. 

According to police, the car was traveling south on Piney Orchard Parkway just south of Riverscape Road and failed to negotiate a curve. The car left the roadway and hit a pole on the right side, then struck a light pole. The car then continued moving and struck two more trees, trapping the occupants inside.

The victims found dead at the scene were identified as David Michael D’augustine, Samuel Carl Schindler, and Katherine Marie Warrington. All were 22 years old and residents of Odenton. Michael Lee Phillip, a 23-year-old Gambrills resident, was in critical condtion at Shock Trauma.

Police said that excessive speed appears to be a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
