Wrong-Way Crash Claims Man's Life: Anne Arundel County Police

A wrong-way crash claimed a man's life in Anne Arundel County, police said. He was 40 years old.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A recent wrong-way crash claimed a man's life in Glen Burnie, police said.

Officers identified the victim as 40-year-old Christopher Gianfrancesco of Glen Burnie.

Authorities said Gianfrancesco was driving a 2006 Mazda 3 sedan eastbound in the westbound lanes of Dorsey Road near the Interstate 97 overpass.

Police said the Mazda hit a 2019 Honda HR-V SUV head-on last Thursday around 10 p.m.

A 2015 Honda Accord sedan traveling behind the HR-V was then unable to avoid hitting the HR-V, officers said.

Authorities said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Gianfrancesco dead on the scene.

The other drivers were not hurt, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said.

Officers are still investigating.
