Maryland Zoo To Reopen After 3 Months Of Closure

Zoo Member Appreciation Days will take place June 24-26, followed by general admission opening on Saturday, June 27.​

BALTIMORE, MD—Some good news for animal lovers! Following its closure amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Maryland Zoo announced Monday that it will reopen Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Zoo Member Appreciation Days will take place June 24-26, followed by general admission opening on Saturday, June 27.

What you need to know

Timed entry reservations are required for all guests and zoo members, according to zoo officials. Reservations can be made at this link. Masks are also recommended on zoo property and required in some areas for guests over the age of nine. Zoo officials said guests are also advised to maintain six feet social distance from other groups and practice frequent hand washing.

The zoo closed on March 16 amid growing national concerns for public safety due to the spread of COVID-19. Despite being closed to the public, the essential zoo animal care team and veterinary team have been on site daily.
