$50K Scratch-Off Ticket Winner Plans To Use Proceeds For Home Improvement Projects
A Howard County woman who bought a winning ticket in Aberdeen took home $50K that she'll use for home improvement projects.
ABERDEEN, MD — After more than 20 years of playing lottery games like Powerball and Mega Millions, a Howard County woman bought a scratch-off ticket in Aberdeen and won a $50,000 prize.
The anonymous winner won the prize on a Bonus Bingo X20 2nd Edition scratch-off ticket. She has won smaller amounts over the years, including a $2,000 prize several years ago. But, this is by far her largest win, she said. She purchased the lucky ticket at the Royal Farms at 742 South Philadelphia Blvd. in Aberdeen.
Jean took her ticket home and finished scratching it, at first thinking she had won just $10. When she returned to the store to confirm, she was stunned to learn her prize was actually $50,000.

“I consider myself lucky that someone didn’t buy those other two tickets — they’d be here instead of me,” Jean said with a smile.
When asked about her plans for the prize money, she said she intends to make home renovations that will make life easier as she gets older.
