$50K Winning Lotto Ticket Bought By Mistake
An Edgewood man bought the wrong lottery ticket but ended up happily winning $50K on the scratch-off ticket he did buy.
EDGEWOOD, MD — An Edgewood man accidentally bought the wrong lotto game that ended up winning him $50,000.
According to Maryland Lottery officials, the landscaper said he was on his way to work when he stopped for gas, a coffee and a scratch-off ticket.
“I didn’t notice the match at first, but when I did I thought I saw $1,000 as the prize, which was fantastic. I wanted to make sure that I’d really won $1,000 before I called my wife. When I saw the $50,000, everything got very still. I didn’t move, just stared at the ticket for a long time. I stopped breathing, I think," he told Maryland Lottery officials.
