BEL AIR, MD — Bel Air has canceled the outdoor portions of its Winter Wonderland offerings Saturday, Dec. 11.

Organizers cited the weather and said the train garden, which is inside the Bel Air Armory, will still be up and running.

A wind advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday.

Issued by the National Weather Service, the advisory calls for wind gusts up to 45 mph Saturday afternoon and 55 mph Saturday night. Tree limbs may blow down, and power outages are possible, according to the advisory.

“It’s always a difficult decision to cancel an event,” organizers said. “But it looks like the weather is not on our side tonight. All outdoor attractions will be cancelled for tonight.”

That means carriage rides, the Ferris wheel, Santa and live music are not happening Saturday.

The drive-in movie is also canceled, according to the Bel Air Downtown Alliance, which advised: “There are still a few tickets left for next Saturday's showing of A Christmas Carol.”

The train garden will run from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday. It is inside the Armory Marketplace.

The Ferris wheel on Lee Street will begin running at noon on Sunday.

Horse-drawn carriage rides will resume from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18. People should sign up in front of the Bel Air Armory that night. Signups will begin at 4:30 p.m. Carriage rides are free. Visits with Santa will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, outside the Harford County Circuit Courthouse.
